So, the opening of a new blog...

So here goes my first post on what I hope will be a fulfilling, informative blog. Ultimately, my passion is a hybrid of medecine and food (so don't be shocked if some medical terms get thrown in sometimes).
My goal this year is to test out new places and culinary sensations not only in my own kitchen, but out and about in my hometown of Montreal. In terms of variety, quality and risk-taking, it runs at the top of my list with New York and Toronto. Sorry Paris, you dissappointed me.
My home cooking is absolutely disorganized, and by this I mean that rarely in one week have two dishes originated from the same continent. I indulge in making dim sum, I adore covering my table in Indian curries and raitas, Thai is a gold standard during the winter months, African tigga degue comes to tempt my palate, and so on. I am hoping to begin exploring South American food, but one step at a time. This winter, Chinese will be a certain focus, as will African cooking, as I spent this past summer in Mali.
So on we go!
